UVA Email #4 - Updates re: UVA Key theft; Doorstops available, Town hall today

Dear UVA residents,

We are continuing to share updates as we have them about the recent theft of a UVA key box containing master keys to the entire Village.

Update: Doostops available at the Village Office:

If you don’t already have one, you are welcome to pick up two free doorstops* that can help prevent your doors from being opened. Stop by the Village Office front desk beginning today (May 7). We currently have approximately 300 in stock, available on a first-come-first-serve basis. However, we hope to obtain more in the coming days. *Be aware the doorstops will hamper one’s ability to quickly evacuate in an emergency.

We are actively working on additional interim solutions (which may include securing additional door chain guards and doorstops, hiring additional private security, etc.) and will provide updates soon.

The Village Office has dedicated operating hours this weekend (May 7-8) to help support UVA residents. Student Affairs staff will be available 10am - 8 pm this Saturday and Sunday at the Village Office to support you.
