My Moment of ACTION

Take Action against Harassment

Last weekend my friends and I all went out to a party together. It was at a friend of a friends house so we didn't know everyone there but we were having a great time. After a couple hours one of my friends came up to me and told me that there was a guy at the party that kept asking her to dance. She politely told him no but his advances were becoming more and more aggressive. I told her to just hang out with me and maybe he would leave her alone. After a while this guy approached and asked her to dance again. After my friend declined he started to call her names and grabbed her arm to drag her out to the dance area. I stepped between them and told him if he didn't let go that I would call the police and the whole party would be shut down. He told me I was over reacting and to calm down. I told him there is no reason to be calm when my friend is being forced to do something against her will. By then we had attracted the attention of some other people, he leg go of my friends arm and walked away. We didn't see him the rest of the night.
