December 18, 2020 - Service Update Winter Holiday and Curtailment

The Stephen C. Sutton, Ed.D., Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, sent the following message to all undergraduate and graduate students on 12/18/20:

Dear UC Berkeley undergraduate, graduate and professional school students,

Each year, the campus reduces energy and steam use during the winter break and encourages staff and faculty to be away from campus facilities. This year, the winter curtailment period has been extended from the end of the business dayTuesday, December 22, 2020 through Monday, January 4, 2021. As a reminder, the spring semester begins on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 and spring instruction begins fully remote on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

Many departments and divisions will have a change in hours of operation or limited service during this time. In general, you may experience some delays in service and response times. See below for more details about changes in service for departments within the Division of Student Affairs. If you are a student who is employed at UC Berkeley, we also encourage you to check in with your supervisor about your work schedule.

Memorial Stadium will close on December 21, 2020 and the RSF site will close on December 22, 2020 at noon. The early closure on the last day before curtailment will allow time to get the testing samples to the lab for processing. Both testing sites will reopen on January 5, 2021 with new extended spring hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m
  • University Health Services (UHS) will be closed December 23, 2020 through January 4, 2021. The link to submit a webcase will remain active for general questions, though web case response time may increase during this time.
  • Cal 1 Card (C1C) offices will be closed December 19, 2020 through January 4, 2021.

Thank you for your supporting your community.  I hope you have a restful and productive winter break.
