New Executive Director of Development Selected George Zeno will be joining the Division of Student Affairs as the Executive Director of Development on August 1, 2012. George brings his 17-year career as an education fundraiser to Berkeley after spending the past 11 years at the University of Washington. He served in a number of leadership positions in student services fundraising as the Director of Development for Minority Affairs & Diversity, Executive Director for Scholarships & Student Programs and, most recently, as the Executive Director for Student Life Advancement. |

Enhanced Stewardship of Smaller-Gift Donors As part of our enhanced stewardship efforts for smaller-gift donors, over 450 donors who gave gifts below $5K to the Berkeley Undergraduate Scholarship, Regents' and Chancellor's Scholarship, Middle Class Access Plan, UC Dream Act, and Memorial funds were individually acknowledged through postcards from students from our Student Ambassadors program. |

Peter E. Haas, Jr. Public Service Leaders Scholarships In December 2011, dear friend to the campus Mrs. Mimi Haas established a magnificent new scholarship award in honor of her late husband Peter Haas - called the Peter E. Haas, Jr. Public Service Leaders Scholarships. These awards will provide scholarship funding and leadership training each year for close to 100 students with financial need who are participating in public service activities for the campus and the community. |

Bergeron Scholars Program Cal parents Sandra and Doug Bergeron's new commitment to Berkeley has resulted in the creation of the new Bergeron Scholars Program, providing financial support and professional mentoring opportunities for young women in the STEM majors. |
