My Moment of ACTION

Jeanette Corona

This past summer, I was walking on Durant Ave, near Dana St. and I heard some shouting from across the street (near the Berkeley Free Clinic). It was a man and woman arguing loudly using their hands and foul language to express anger. I became scared as soon as I saw him put his hands on her. He was shaking her and verbally assaulting her. She attempted to run away but he caught up to her quickly. I didn't know what to do except for to dial 911. When I called I was asked to give a description of the couple and their location. Within a couple of minutes, I saw three cop cars.

I'm not sure what happened to them. But I know if I was being physically and verbally harassed, I'd hope that someone could help and DO something about it.
