Achieve Organizational Objectives

We are at a pivotal moment of UC Berkeley and Student Affairs’ history. As we are challenged with diminishing funding from the State of California, changes within the organization’s leadership, and other external factors have created a compelling need to use our resources effectively and efficiently.   To sustain our reputation as one of the finest Universities in the world, our objective is to attract the ‘best and the brightest’—students, professors, researchers, and staff.  In Student Affairs we support the University’s objective by offering students an exceptional experience—one that fully prepares them to meet the challenges they face upon graduation.

To achieve this objective, Student Affairs is committed to enhancing and broadening the student experience.  We believe that culture is essential to achieving this objective through our aspirational culture statement:

“Student Affairs is a great workplace where staff trust the people they work with, take pride in what they do, and feel a sense of community in support of the student experience.”  This section will help you understand how the work we do and the culture we live in each day directly contribute to achieving both the University’s and Student Affairs’ objectives.
