Bears That C.A.R.E.
What Bears that CARE is
Bears That Care (BTC) is an active bystander initiative to make our campus safer.
We want to create a community of care wherein community members — like yourself — are able to recognize and intervene in situations that have the potential to be violent or harmful.
What we do/who we are
Through interactive workshops about bystander intervention, Bears That CARE educates and empowers individuals and groups to be able to recognize potential harm or violence and intervene safely and effectively.
While we have our basic bystander intervention workshop, we are also trained to facilitate a sexual assault and consent workshop that also incorporates bystander intervention and community engagement.
Peer Educators provide workshops to student groups across campus and actively promote violence prevention through a variety of programs.
Staff Facilitators lead workshops for academic and student affairs departments.
