100% of Pre-collegiate Acadamy
Admitted to 4-Year Universities

100% of the Pre-collegiate Academy 12 cohort students were admitted to four-year universities, including UC Berkeley, Brown University, and UCLA. 14 out of 22 admitted to UC Berkeley will be starting in the Fall.

 Sacramento Schools

IAP Expansion

The IAP program expanded to two schools in the Sacramento School District, McClatchy High and Sacramento High, due to a 2010 gift from IAP donors Jim and Betty Huhn. This fall two of the inaugural students will matriculate to Berkeley as IAP/Sacramento Scholars.


IAP Participates in National Promotion Video

IAP was selected to participate in a national promotional video for the Strong Interest Inventory assessment. Three IAP Scholars and Academic Counselor, Rod Santos, were interviewed and highlighted for their use of the Inventory at IAP's First Year Transition Seminar during the Fall 2011 semester.

Awards & Recognition

 UC System

Brieanna Wright, Academic Counselor, was selected to co-present at the UC Systemwide Advising Conference on innovative approaches to working with underrepresented student populations.


Layla Naranjo, Assistant Director, was selected as one of 24 participants for the UC Berkeley Leadership Development Program where she participated in a group project on recommendations for operational metrics for the "High Performance Culture" initiative through Operational Excellence

 Cal Alumni Assoc

Verenice Bravo, Marlene Castro, Karen Hernandez, and Lanikque Howard (IAP Scholars) were awarded a 2012 UC Berkeley Achievement Award for their leadership and contributions to the various communities they participate in. A total of 16 recipients were selected.
